# Job summary

Job Summary is comprised of two pages that together, provide comprehensive information about all facets of a job, including interview stages, candidates, interviews, and reviews. It also serves as the central hub for monitoring how candidates move through the pipeline and updating stage settings.

To start managing candidates for a specific job, navigate from the main dashboard to **Jobs**, then select the **job title** to open **Job Summary**.

> Note: Menu labels can vary by language and configuration. For example, **Jobs** may appear as **Trabajos**.

## Manage interview stage settings (Scheduling, Candidate Experience, and Invitation email)

Use this workflow when you need to access and manage settings for different interview stages within a job requisition (for example, a pre-screen questionnaire, a recruiter phone screen, or an in-person interview).

1. Go to **Jobs**.
2. Use the search and filter options to locate the job requisition you want to update (for example, search by **Requisition** number).
3. Select the **job title** to open **Job Summary**.
4. On the Job Summary overview page, scroll to the stage cards to find the interview stage you want to update (stage names vary and may be customized).
5. In the stage card, select the setting you want to manage (availability depends on stage type and licensing), such as:
   - **Scheduling** (live stages)
   - **Candidate experience**
   - **Invitation email** / **Review invitation email** (commonly available for on-demand web/video stages)
6. Make your updates, then select **Save** (or **Save & Close**) to apply changes.

## View candidates for a job (including the Initial Interview stage)

When you open a job, Hirevue typically lands you on the first stage tab in the workflow (for example, **Initial Interview**). This stage page shows the candidate list for that stage.

On the stage candidate list, you can typically see high-level details such as the candidate’s name, current status (for example, **Ready for review** or **Review Started**), submission date, and—when enabled—assessment/interview scores and average ratings.

You can also:

- Sort the list (for example by **Status** or **Assessment**, and in some configurations **Code Score**) using the sort links at the top of the candidate list.
- Take actions for an individual candidate using the **three-dot (ellipsis) menu** next to the candidate.

## View the candidate list for a job (from Job Summary)

Use these steps when you want to open the full list of candidates invited to a job (for example, everyone invited to a screening assessment).

1. Click **Jobs** in the main navigation.
2. Select the job you want to view.
3. On the **Job Summary** page, locate the **Candidate(s) Invited** section.
4. Click **View all** to open the full candidate list.

## Access the candidate list for a specific job stage

Use these steps when you need to view the candidates who are in a particular stage of a job (for example, candidates who have submitted an on-demand interview).

1. From the main dashboard, select **Jobs**.
2. On the Jobs page, use the **Job Title** (or **Name**) search/filter field (if available) to find the job you want to view.
3. Select the **job title** you want to view.
4. In **Job Summary**, select the relevant **stage** tab in the progress bar/tabs to open the stage page (the candidate list).
   - Stage labels can be numbered (for example, **Stage 1**) or have custom names (for example, **PRI On-Demand - Web/Video**).

The stage candidate list shows the candidates in that stage along with key details such as status and, where enabled, assessment/interview scores.

From the stage candidate list, you can review interviews (for example, **See responses**/**See interview**) and, where available, send submissions to others for feedback.

### Access the On-Demand Video stage candidate list

Use this workflow when you specifically need to see the list of candidates in an **On-Demand Video** stage for a job.

1. Go to **Jobs**.
2. Select the **job title** to open **Job Summary**.
3. In the job’s progress bar/stage tabs, select the **On-Demand - Web/Video** stage (or your organization’s custom stage name for the on-demand video stage).
4. The stage page opens and displays the list of candidates in that on-demand video stage.

> Note: In some configurations, stages appear as tabs (for example, **On-Demand Video Stage**), while in others they appear as circles in a progress bar. The result is the same: selecting the stage opens the candidate list.

## Quick start: manage candidates for a job

### 1 - Stage header

Provides the following summary information about the selected stage:

#### Candidates (number)

Number of candidates added to the selected stage. If this is a(n):

- **On-demand stage**, then candidates have been invited to participate in an on-demand stage.
- **Live stage**, then candidates have been added to the stage, and may or may not need to be scheduled. Refer to the labels on the candidate status bar (4) to see any messages requiring user intervention, such as a need to schedule candidate interviews.

#### Stage name

Identifier for the selected stage. By default, stages are named according to their placement in the job (for example, Stage 1, Stage 2, etc.), but may also be customized from the interview stage card on the Job Summary Overview page.

#### Stage type

Indicates the interview type configured for the selected stage. When you add a stage to a job, you first determine the interview type that you want to use, and then select the interview stage type that fits your needs.

Stage types

##### On-demand video

Recorded interview that candidates complete using their computer or mobile device. You can configure HireVue to ask questions via video, image, text, or audio, and then require that candidates respond using video, audio, text, fill-in-the-blank, or single select/multiple select.

##### On-demand voice

Recorded audio interview that candidates complete using their phone (mobile or landline). You can either add your own audio question, or enter a text question that you want the system to repeat to the candidate. Candidates can then respond with their voice, or by using a telephone keypad to make a single select selection.

##### On-demand text

Recorded text (SMS) interview that candidates complete using text messaging functionality on their cell phone or their web browser, depending on your system configuration. By default, candidates complete on-demand text interviews using their web browser. However, if your system is configured to allow both SMS and web responses, then candidates who:

- Have a phone number in their candidate profile can choose to participate in on-demand text interviews using either their phone or a web browser.
- Do not have a phone number in their candidate profile must participate using their web browser.

When using on-demand text stages, you can configure HireVue to ask questions via text or single select answers.

##### Live video

Live video interviews conducted with candidates and hiring managers using computers or mobile devices.

##### Live voice

Phone interviews conducted between candidates and hiring managers.

##### In person

Live interviews where candidates and hiring managers meet in-person at a specific location.

### 2 - Sort

Sorts candidate records by **Status** or **Assessment**. In some configurations, you may also be able to sort by other scoring metrics (for example, **Code Score**).

By default, candidates are sorted by their current status in descending order, beginning with "Not Started" and continuing to "Advanced" (Not Started > Started > Canceled > Expired > Submitted > Advanced).

You can select:

- **Status** to reverse the default status sort order, moving candidates with the status of "Advanced" to the top of the list and candidates with the status of "Not Started" to the bottom.
- **Assessment** to sort candidates by their assessment scores, beginning with the highest score and moving to the lowest. Click Assessment again to reverse the sort order, moving candidates with the highest score to the bottom of the list. Candidates with no assessment score will appear by default at the bottom of the list.

Any adjustments you make to sort order while you are viewing the Job Summary page will be reset to default when you refresh or reload the page.

### 3 - Filter

Use the filter to narrow the list of candidates based on user-defined criteria. Only the candidates that meet the criteria you define here will appear in the candidate list.

Refer to the numbered links after the example below for more information about the filter.

![](https://recruiter-help.hirevue-app.com/api/attachments.redirect?id=4c836e0e-9bf0-4c32-ad1e-8abd885cf9bf)

#### 1 - Filter tag

Displays and lets you remove active filter criteria. Each filter criteria selected in the filter fields below appear in a separate tag.

To quickly remove one or more of the applied filter criteria, click the X in the filter tag for that criteria. Any new criteria that you define will appear in a new tag in this area.

#### 2 - Candidate name search

Lets you search by a specific candidate name. You can type all or part of a candidate name in order to search for specific candidates.

For example, if you type "S" in the search field, the page displays all candidates with names containing an "S" (Mary Smith, Sam Sample, John Marks, etc.). If you type "Smi" in the search field, the page displays all records where the candidate name contains the "Smi" string (Mary Smith). In order for records to appear in the filter, the records must contain the exact string of letters and/or numbers typed into the filter field, in the order in which they are typed.

#### 3 - Status

Lets you filter candidates with a specific interview status. On-demand and live interviews each have a different set of statuses.

On-demand stage statuses

- **Invited**: Candidate was invited to an on-demand interview, but has not yet begun the interview.
- **Started**: Candidate was invited to an on-demand interview, and has begun the interview.
- **Expired**: Candidate was invited to an on-demand interview, but that interview is now expired. The candidate did not complete the interview.

  Interviews expire when either the:

  - Candidate submission deadline is passed, or
